On the 1st of January my friends and I were caught in a snow blizzard and managed to limp to the travel Inn at Cross hands. The Little Chef restaurant opposite was due to close at 8. However Simon Thomas kept the restuarent open for us and provided us with the most amazing service - fantastic food and a great atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He finally was able to close at 10.30 once we (and others) had left. The following morning he managed to open the restuarent by walking to work, and as no other staff were able to ge throught he snow his mother and father came with him and waited on the tables while Simon cooked all the food and took the money. I cannot praise this young man highly enough. He is a credit to the Little Chef group - if all your restaurents were as clean and well run your company would always be in profit. If you have an Employee Of the Year award he should win it hands down!
Popped in yesterday for a cup of tea & something sweet on our way home from a weekend break and found the staff offering free face painting. Our 5 year old was keen and came home as a lion, which made his day! The staff were also getting painted, which he liked too... nice to see fun and games for kids not being too "corporate" and done with a real sense of fun! :-)
We again visited Rising Bridge. The restaurant was very weloming, the staff very pleasant, the food piping hot.We will definately visit again soon. Also we highly recommend this restaurant to all our friends. Well Done!

I would just like to say that I had a meal for the first time in about 3 years at a Little Chef. The service was excellent and so was the quality of the food.
Also I have picked up a take away menu. This seems to be your best kept secret. I intend to use Little Chef a lot more even if for the cheaper take away meals. I will be letting my colleagues know on Monday at our team meeting.
I also thought the flowers and products available (deoderant & shaving cream) in the gents was a neat idea. I will be back more often now (but don't tell the family).
Please congratulate your staff.
I've visited this restaurant several times with my children and we have always had great service and great food. We went there tonight with a friend for my daughters birthday meal, her choice as this Little Chef is her favourite place to eat. Once the staff discovered it was Nikki's birthday they couldn't have made it more special for her! They really pulled out all the stops with a birthday box for her, her brother and their friend. They even gave her a card from all the staff which she thought was fantastic. They said if I had let them know before hand they would have laid on a special table with balloons and everything. We all had a fantastic meal and all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, we will definately be going back there again and again. We cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you so much.

We would just like to say that the service and food was excellent. The waiter who attended us was Garreth, who was very polite, cheerful, talkative and told us of other desserts that were not yet on the menu. I had that dessert and it was as delicious as he had described. The food was very well cooked and tasty. The portions were generous and well presented. In all, it was a very enjoyable dinning experience. Excellent staff and food.
We've not been to a Little Chef in a long time - and were pleasantly surprised by our visit. We were delighted you have fairtrade coffees and free range eggs and plenty of vegetarian choices. We were also impressed by the attention of the staff - Jozef, amongst several others, was friendly and attentive, and we really enjoyed our visit - Thankyou.
Great food, excellent service, friendly people, clean tables and toilets and my favourite jelly beans on the way out as a freebie? Couldn't have had a better Little Chef experience than that!
Since I was a child my grandparents, every time I visited england on the holidays, since I live in Greece, when going to the Yeovil airshow or generally, they used to take me and my brother to the little chef in order for me to know what a real english breakfast is all about! This has been happening since I was around 7 years old up to almost 16 years old! I remember how everyone was so kind and nice to us being small children and always looked after us. I have very vivid memories of the people and the little chef itself. Now, I am almost 27 years old and havent visited the UK for some time, and not only do I miss the UKK but I miss the Little Chef. Being part of my childhood this place formed the most beautiful memories I have so now that i can, I would like to say a big thankyou for being there and always making me long for coming back!
This was my 1st visit to a Little Chef for many years. I was most impressed at this site with how very pleasant the staff were and the excllent quality of the food ordered from a very tempting and reasonably priced menu.
I was on my way back home to Southampton from Harrogate and am glad I called in there today.
I will certainly be using your restaurants a lot more now.
Mr Steve Cook
I visit this restaurant every Sunday morning with my son for breakfast. I find the service here excellent and the food great. In this day and age it is really nice to be made to feel genuinely welcome and to receive a nice smile and a please and thankyou. I travel throughout the UK quite often and will travel out of my way to avoid the motorway service areas in favour of Little Chef. Please keep up the good work and passon my thanks to your excellent staff at Sedgefield. Cheers!
Mr Mark Taylor
Several times in the past six months I have visited this restaurant, both for breakfast and for lunch. I have to say that each time I have been most impressed, the cleanliness of the establishment was excellent, the service good, polite and speedy and the food was very good and enjoyable. The Manager was a most courteous, helpful and efficient person. Congratulations to him and his staff. We will most certainly be visiting again.

As a driver with St. Dunstan's (a charity helping blind ex-Servicemen and women) I travel widely throughout England and Wales and use your restaurants at least 3 times a week. I often have 4 – 6 passengers with me who also dine at your establishments. Whilst I find the majority of Little Chefs friendly and welcoming, the service I received at Sutterton today was exceptional and warranted a special mention. All the staff were friendly, well presented and efficient; the Olympic breakfast was perfect and the restaurant was clean, bright and welcoming. The manager (Robert) in particular was attentive, friendly and professional. Please pass on my praise to the staff at Sutterton and congratulate them on a job well done. Thank you.
Mr Christopher Bates
We ate two breakfasts and two dinners there last weekend and were so impressed by the excellent customer service of our waiter, STEVEN. He was so welcoming, friendly, pre-empted our needs and went out of his way to make our meals a really enjoyable experience. He was a hit with our baby too! We think he should be praised for his attitude and first-class standard of service - he is a credit to your organisation and I hope you will pass this on to him!
What an excellent meal we had. It was the first night of our honeymoon. The food was great and the staff were really friendly. It was very clean and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We'll definately be back.
I had a lovely meal with my husband who does not like going in places for a meal and he also said how lovely the meal was and how clean the restaurant was. The staff there made you so welcome it was to celebrate our anniversary and we totally enjoyed it. I couldnt fault the staff and the meal 100%
Hi there,
I want to say many congratulations to Little Chef for reaching 50 years of food serving.
Here's to you all at Little Chef and my wife and I do hope that you will keep going for the next fifty years, [although my wife nor I will be around then!]
Good Luck.
Ken and Dulcie Batten.
Thank you for forwarding the new menu. Can I congratulate you on having free range eggs and outdoor reared sausages. It's excellent to see a chain considering animal welfare issues. I love eating meat and eggs but are generally restricted when eating out because they use the cheapest they can find (forgetting that many customers would like this choice)...perhaps a free range chicken dish for the winter?
Thank you!
I have not been to a Little Chef for a number of years now as I felt that they had become over priced, dreary, poor quality and exceptionally robotic and I have even sometimes experienced rude Customer Service staff. Today has changed my mind.
I can’t recall ever writing a note like this before, but the team today have been excellent. The service was swift, polite and focused. The food was also excellent, very good value for money and presented fresh in double quick time.
I am a mystery shopper by profession and cannot commend your team highly enough!
John Howard
I recently read in the Battery Hen Welfare Trust newsletter that all your eggs are free range and just wanted to say well done on that achievement.

My wife and I visited here yesterday and were impressed by:-
- the cleanliness of the premises
- the courtesy and efficiency of the staff
- the quality of the food
- the return of the EARLY STARTER!
We look forward to our next visit.

I would like to commend your 2 members of staff that were working in the Malton restaurant on the evening of New Year's Day. The A64 westbound was back to back with traffic moving extremely slowly, by the time we got to the restaurant we had spent 3 hours in traffic and had only been travelling from Filey! We arrived at about 6:50pm and were told that they were still serving food, which we were very grateful to hear. During our visit we learned that the ladies were supposed to have closed at 6pm but had decided to stay open a little longer due to what was happening on the road outside. We left approximately an hour after arriving and the ladies were still serving hot drinks and allowing people to take respite and use the facilities.
Goodness knows what time they ended up being able to go home, but we (and I dare say many others) were very grateful they had decided to stay, there was nothing else open for miles either side and it was a welcome relief. I think the ladies are a great credit to the company and thought someone should know of the trouble they went to, I'm sure many in their place would not have done the same. I would be grateful if my thanks could be passed onto them so they know that someone took notice.
